Back to Dog River II

Ok, it is Wednesday evening and the weather is getting better, meaning the rain has stopped in the watersheds where we will be traveling. Thank goodness!

As you can see, just one little patch rain that's close to our waterway just south of Huntsville AL.

If you compare these two graphs to the previous post, you will see the water level prediction has been revised DOWN....which is great news! The bottom graph is our first dam to lock through. If we start on Saturday we will be pushing against lots of water which means it may be slow going. Slow is ok, but the amount of trash in the water is a concern. Another case of "Time will Tell" .....

Here is our route.....we will be heading north from Dog River Marina, (Mobile Bay, AL) to the Tombigbee River to the Tennessee Tombigbee Waterway to the Tennessee River on north and hopefully docking at either Kentucky Dam Village Marina (the state park) or Green Turtle Bay Marina on Barkley lake (the Cumberland River). From there, we are +- 180 miles from home. That's our goal, but we know when boating, you cannot be on a schedule, or you will likely be disappointed.

If you want to know more about the Tennessee Tombigbee Waterway here is a link:

And here is some more pictures of the TennTom:
