St Johns River 9-24-13

Day 4 was the final leg to Sanford FL just north of Orlando. This is the end of the river for boats like ours. The St Johns river is a chain of lakes and the first lake (beginning of the chain is Lake Monroe).

We left our overnight anchorage at 9;30am and enjoyed breakfast as we cruised. Viv make a crazy good blueberry pancakes and bacon...

Here are some pictures from inside the boat...

Big cranes and lots of plants block access to many docks..

Highway 44 Bridge..

This is really a good size marina for this stretch of the river..

Air boat out spraying unwanted plants, we saw 5 of these boat out on our last trip.

These guys were fishing but were not friendly at all, they looked at us like we where
a bother but we were dry and they were not!

These birds have taken over this dock.. bet the poop is thick..

Wild Turkeys were all everywhere through this area..

Manatee slow zones... but we were told we are to early in the year to see them.

This stretch look like the Green river back home

Not many passengers... but I'm sure the rain is a factor..

You can see the narrow channel back to water behind the trees.

The mile markers on this river make no sense...up to 99 but soon back to single digits, does not seem to be a logical order.

Sign says no trespassing but you would have to be able to walk on water to trespass...

Lilly pads galore..

Spooky looking tree..

A group of seniors enjoying the afternoon..

This railroad bridge is just 7 feet off the water..

Bridge to nowhere...

Interstate 4 Bridge...

Four mile to famous (or infamous) Sanford Florida..home of George Zimmerman the shooter that
killed Travon Martin :(

Crossing Lake Monroe, the water depth is just 8 feet but our 70,000 pound boat only draws 3 feet so no problem for us!

Straight lines are easy with the auto-pilot on...

This is the definition of a bad day for someone....

Sanford city hall....

Big marina!

Very cool old cruiser

One of the few osprey we have seen!

This crazy boater dam near hit us...like he couldn't see us??

Captain Viv is getting very good at piloting..

Again another good day!

Would of had more but I had technical error occur (I deleted the rest of the days pictures), Oh well
S--t happens!
