St Johns Day Two

Day two started out from our anchorage at Palatka where we transverse over to the marina where Ken could meet us bringing us belts for the alternator. We change the alternator belts enabling us to use both engines But there was a vibration above 1500 RPM that indicated there was something on the port side engine..prop that needed attention. Ken arranged for a diver to meet us at the Acosta Marina at approximately 4 PM. Jay the owner of the marina met us at the dock and there was a very stiff wind coming out of the East and much current so I yielded control of the vessel to Jay and he guided it to a precarious inside slip so it would be close to the bank to make the job for the diver easier. $200 later and the hull was clean and the props were defouled but the diver found that the starboard prop had a loose plop nut that had backed off all the way to the Cotter pin do I called Ken and he agreed we should spend the extra funds to have the prop nuts tightened but unfortunately the driver did not have the appropriate wrench with him so that Repair will come the morning of day three! And the adventure continues…

Beached boat but one could'nt help but ponder the good times that many must of had aboard this boat in its day...

  1. The Admiral has a smile on her face... keep up the good work... boat ownership comes with its challenges and expenses... even the best equipment needs the best care.

Its raining here in our tropical 'Paradise'... summer's rainy season is here. We are enjoying milder 80s temperatures.

Looking forward to your next Day on the water.
